Denmark is not alone in the dilemma it faces

You know upon reading this story in Huffington Post I almost had to laugh at the first thing it said-- Denmark still needs to wean itself off coal. Is this not the battle we are fighting here in the USA between liberals and conservatives? Is it not the conservatives who want to keep the status quo with respect to the oil industry?

It reaches out much farther than only a domestic issue though. You see nations around the globe are striving to become green. Either out of necessity or energy pragmatism you can choose your poison. But this still leaves us more or less out of the equation. Where is American ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit.

I am an electrical engineer for petessakes. And I have had a difficult time finding alternative energy solutions. I know these exist because I blog daily about them. So why is it that we cannot just go to Wal-Mart, Lowes, or Home Depot and find solar or wind alternatives? Could it simply be that our economy is still not set up to do this? Furthermore, I would have to question our legislators and ask them why they have not produced any bills to attack this problem. It is all just as well because I absolutely do not wish to hear their double speak on this argument. The time is NOW and if we do not seize upon it all hope is just lost!
