AMSC's 100-MW Wind Deal: New Life After Sinovel

AMSC (American Semiconductor Corporation) has apparently struck a deal with Indian manufacturer, Inox. Now this comes on the heels of a lawsuit that AMSC brought against the Chinese Wind Manufacturer, Sinovel. It is alleged by AMSC that Sinovel was engaged in industrial sabatoge-- by stealing proprietary information from them.

As I have said several times on this blog, I do not believe we should trust the Chinese for one second with our new technologies. To do otherwise will only put you in the shape that AMSC now finds itself in. Once you share your proprietary information with the Chinese, it is like game over because they will either copy your technology or improve upon it.

Sinovel was AMSC's biggest customer before they became involved in this legal battle. AMSC is now suing Sinovel for $1.2 billion as is detailed in this article. But just out of curiosity I tooled on over to AMSC's website to see what they had to say about this deal. Not really much there, other than the mention of this deal with Inox.
