Enbridge, a Canadian Energy company will most likely make the news here before too long. See they have plans to upgrade their existing pipeline from Chicago, IL to Cushing, OK.
Why all of the sudden do we need these pipelines for? Well Canada is producing crude from their tar sands. That crude needs a place to go and these Canadian companies think it best if their products go to the USA.
The sad truth of the matter is that most likely we will never most likely see any benefit from this crude though. I say this because our oil companies here will most likely ship their refined product to China and India. And thus leaving very little for us Americans.
