CASM scores a small win; carbon tax suggestion akin to Cap and Trade

CASM (Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing) scored a win earlier this week. If you remember I told you about an anonymous member of CASM who was going to testify here. Well it may be a win for CASM albeit much smaller than was anticipated.

CASM as well as many other groups thought the Department of Commerce would levee a tarif of about 20-30%. But there are three tiers in this levee ranging anywhere from 2.9-4.73. But this is only the beginning.

See the Chinese face a case over dumping their panels as well. And according to John Smirnow a trade law expert, he says that this case is no indication how the 'dumping' part of the case will turn out. This is an imperative case for American manufacturers to win. It is high time something is done about this cheap stuff from flooding our markets.

I have a solution to this problem. If you remember a whole hullabaloo was made over the carbon tax and cap and trade here in this country. I say impose a carbon tax on any products made in countries such as China, India and most of the Asia-Pacific countries. They are the biggest polluter of the earth's atmosphere at present, and this could serve to stifle that pollution-- until they get their manufacturing processes up to snuff.

You can read more about this here if you are so inclined.
