Apple's green energy plans for its NC data center Project Dolphin

Apple is moving ahead with its NC data center green energy plans. The project was given the name 'Project Dolphin' by the big wigs at Apple. Plans are still lacking about the site as far as commoners go. And furthermore its on a 171 acre site that is owned by Apple which is adjacent to their data center.

Additionally this site is supposed to be the largest privately owned solar farm. And in addition to solar it will also host a biogas fuel cell. The overall output of this plant is supposed to be about five megawatts. This is the combined out of the solar array and the biogas fuel cell.

Now most of you who own iPads, iPods, and iPhones already communicate with this data center on a regular basis. You see, it hosts both iTunes and iClouds information. To put it another way, each time your devices 'phone home' this is the facility to which it is communicating with. A story on this can be viewed here via mac.blorge.com. And it will host the largest non utility fuel cell in the world!
