Stanford Ovshinsky has passed away
Stanford Ovshinsky has passed away at age 89. You may or may not know this, but this man developed the nickle metal hydride battery. He sold his company to GM for about 100 million dollars. But, GM did not develop this battery for their EV-1's; they instead sold said technology to Texaco, who was acquired by Chevron, and chevron never developed his battery technology at all! It is a shame that the fossil fuel industry was able to shelf his ideas. Just think of how far we could have come if his breakthrough technology was developed instead. So, we have lost another 'garage innovator', but we have plenty of your devices to tinker with Mr. Ovshinsky.
