Paolo Corrada has developed a solar powered air conditioner
Paolo Corrada, a PhD student researcher at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), has developed a solar powered air conditioner. This could not have come at a better time, if you ask me, because in order to make the transition to alternative energy such a device is essential for said transition.I read an article on the Greenoptimistic website, which clued me into his findings. As was pointed out in this article, air conditioning (HVAC) typically accounts for 65% of a homes energy usage. But what makes his idea rather revolutionary is that it is based on a chiller system. For those of you who have never been around one of these like I have, it is basically based on heat. A great number of commercial and industrial projects I have worked on featured chillers just like what he is using here for his invention. He is apparently using the sun's abundant supply of energy to make the heat for his system. He is thereby eliminating about 90% of what is typically used for air conditioners. We need more people like Paolo Corrada to step up and develop more things which are solar based and then perhaps we can break the stranglehold that the fossil fuel industry has on us all!

An impressive share! I've just forwarded this onto a friend who had been doing a little homework on this. And he in fact ordered me dinner simply because I discovered it for him... lol. So allow me to reword this.... Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to discuss this topic here on your site.
