Because a historic transition away from carbon intensive coal is well underway.As well, they say such a lofty victory on the people in communities who have spoke out rather emphatically against projects around the globe that would have used coal as their prime mover.Now something which should be noted here is that the EPA has been involved in a few lawsuits. In the first lawsuit, the EPA was the victor. But the second one, which was an appeal of the first one was sought in the D.C appeals circuit, and the EPA lost that one.So while we are winning if you look at the big picture, we still have a long way to go. Hopefully with any luck the people of this great nation will realize that we have more that coal to burn. We have an abundance of solar panel possibilities (I believe it has been estimated to be something like one terrawatt) as well as an abundance of wind power potentials as well. I so hope that everyone realizes these facts sooner, rather than later. Then and only then will we be able to break free from the fossil fuel's grip on us all!

We have made the first steps in getting away from coal
Well, I just finished reading this article. In said article it explains how we have gotten away from coal. And such a lofty goal was not inspired by any regulations or incentives.As was laid out in the first paragraph of said article states
