The Chinese apparently say it is illegal for foreign embassies to monitor their air quality

Well, unfortunately I just read an article about how the Chinese say that it is illegal for any foreign embassy to monitor the quality of their air over there.

While they may have done so for good reasons, this is an injustice for the Chinese people as a whole. I mean it is not enough for their government to bring online a new coal fired powerhouse every week or more (it has been a while since I read this fact, I believe it may have even been more than that)! Add to that the fact that their population has finally started purchasing automobiles, and their businesses have been expanding their shipping fleet (trucks, ocean going vessels, and even planes) and they have virtually no oversight like we do here in America, the air over there has gotten to the same state that our air was circa 1950.

I say that the Chinese government should stop lying to their populous over there and clean its act up in a HUGE way! But along with this I truly believe that we (all Western nations that is) should assess a penalty on products that are made over there. You could think of it as a surcharge for all of their wares. And I see no way to get them to straighten up unless we do such.

For example the readings that we take at our embassy directly and heavily conflict with the Chinese government. It is much worse than they report it as being!
