Georgia's Votgle Double Reactor Project has seemingly jumped its price tag over $900 million in just three months. And the article which I read about this reactor says that is just the start.
There is right now a group of ratepayers trying to have the project shut down.
Construction there is defined by faulty concrete and non-spec rebar steel that threaten public safety and could delay completion dates beyond those projected even before construction began.
South Carolina's V.C. Summer, the only other new U.S. reactor project now under construction, is meeting fierce ratepayer resistance in two states. From Iowa to Brazil, Japan to France, the global reactor industry is collapsing in tandem. But what other nations will it bankrupt and irradiate before it's finished?
The entities responsible for its building do not want to put anything down for this project. Kind of like the housing bubble caused consumers to overpay for their houses; if they are allowed to put nothing down for the construction of this plant we could ALL end up paying for this thing!
I will do my best to bring you stories about up and coming technology in the world of energy. I will also bring you the utmost information on stories which have an impact on our environment here on planet Earth. Please be sure to like my blog folks, otherwise I have no way of knowing whether you like it or not.
