Texas Tornadoes: Climate Change - and Climate Deniers - in the Lone Star State

Climate change deniers in the Lone Star State (Texas) were just struck by a rash of tornadoes that struck that region recently. This is obviously an oversimplification but it fits the debate rather nicely.

There is still debate amongst weather experts in whether or not they should include such extreme weather in the cause of global warming. I mean who is to say whether global warming itself created such storms? There is no way for us to quantify such statements.

The most extreme irony here is that one of the area's politicians recently bragged about cutting funding which would have paid for a system which could have predicted such storms and reduced their impact.

But not to be outdone Mitt Romney said it would be "immoral" to spend Federal money to help victims of national disasters like the one that just struck Texas. Which leads me to believe that he himself is a cold-hearted republican trying to pander to the republican base!

All of this leads me into talking all about how the GOP in their anti everything kick have just cut $500 million from the budget for weather predicting satellites. And they unsuccessfully tried to cut FEMA's budget as well. It is like they all missed out on Newton's first law of physics which could be extended to this case: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

But this year they want to slash nearly every budget across the board. That is except for an ever expanding military budget. And you can read more about this here.
