Quite a laudable undertaking by Nissan making a more efficient ship

While there is no doubt something needs to be done to our shipping industry, I believe this will have little overall effect on the market, and even worse very little effect on our environment. But a few weeks ago they released this news article on their plans. While the ship is going to employ LED lights and an advanced engine control computer which accounts for much of the ship's fuel savings. I have been a long time advocate for LED lights-- they use little to no power when compared to even the CFL bulbs and better yet do not require a haz-mat team to clean them up if you break them.
