MIT working on getting free light from light bulbs
It seems as though the researchers at MIT may have figured a way to get more light than energy put into a light source. I mean this is no break through to me, as I have several LED lights that do just that. But what MIT has made a discovery of was the fact that if you were to turn down the voltage to the light bulb. Now to be fair, we are only talking about picowatts here, but in time they may be able to repeat this process on a grander scale. What this experiment produce was 69 picowatts from a 30 picowatt source. This meant that 39 picowatts was seemingly produced from the circuit. This function would not help the normal incandescent bulbs, but may be used instead for LED bulbs and other 'cold' bulbs. We will have to wait around and see what this discovery holds for the future of 'cold' bulbs. You can read more on this subject by going here.
