Anonymous CASM member goes public
I don't know about you, but I can tell you one thing that really pisses me off. And that is all the cheap shit that China has flooded our markets with. Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing (CASM) has an anonymous member coming forward in the Commerce Department's investigation into this fact. If you have been following this blog for sometime you will have long since been aware of the case of Envia taking a grant from our government then farming out part of the actual process of making their batteries to China. That just makes me sick. We have plenty of people here in the states, myself included, which could have worked on the development of their new batteries. Atul Kapadia (Envia's CEO) was quick to point out that all of the novel work was done here in the states, but why do you need to enlist the Chinese in this venture to actually assemble the thing? Anyway back to CASM-- in the end they could have hefty tarriffs placed on these cheap chinese solar panels that they (the chinese govt) has flooded our markets with. I hope and pray that they suffer this fate, because if we do not do anything now to protect our jobs at home it may be too late.
