China is apparently gearing itself up to be the largest supplier of renewable energy it seems. The government over there is pushing a production number of 50,000 tons of certain modules in hopes of pushing out certain module makers to hit the 5gw scale. I can only assume that is 5gw a year, but none of the articles I have read specified it. In addition to pushing some huge numbers in the photovoltalic region, distributed wind generation has taken the country by storm. With a projection of 100gw by 2015.
Not to say this is all China has going for it though. They apparently are ready for production of EV's over there. As an 'industry' analyst said they are ready to move from development to industrialization. And furthermore local and federal governments are seen to be helping in this endeavor as well.
