Manufacturers of chargers for EV's, or elctric vehicles

I just thought I would compile a list of various electric vehicle chargers for all of you. This list is essentially a copy of the list you can find here. ECOtotality starts our list off. ECOtotality has been in the charging game for awhile, having been producing charges for various industrial applications, such as electric forklifts. This company manufactures both Level 1 and Level 2 chargers.

Clipper Creek is next on our list. They are nothing more than a junction box installed in the corner of your garage. And they only offer a Level 2 charger. They are what is used to charge the Tesla roadster. And they come in various voltage and amperage configurations to 'match customers' needs'

AeroVironment is next on our list. Aero has been in the game ever since GM's EV1 met its demise; you see Aero designed the precursor for GM's EV1, the Impact. However you must first dig into their site to get the specifications of their chargers. You can do so yourself by clicking here. They have various offerings for charging at home, multi home dwellings, public charging, charging fleets, retail and commercial charging, a charger for charging at work. By gat their offerings are by far and away more than we have seen thus far.

Next on the list are chargers made by Coulomb Technologies. They are quickly building out their ChargePoint network which can be seen here. They say that their network is designed with drivers who have to worry about keeping their cars charged, thus the network so they don't have to worry so much.

GE entered into the fray back in July of 2010. Their product, the WattStation can be viewed by clicking the link. And yet another article which talks about the specifics of such charger such as the built in wifi ready capability of their machines can be found here.

PEP is another manufacturer that is nearly as obscure as Clipper Creek. But PEP has been in collaboration with Ford on their EV programs. They mainly feature a focus on aesthetics as the company was founded by an architect.

Better Place is well known for their battery swapping schemes and have just recently delved into the EV marketplace, by releasing their chargers in Israel and Denmark thus far.

And rounding out our list of chargers is a name you should all recognize-- Leviton, makers of all types of electrical fixtures like receptacles and light switches. And believe it or not their chargers come with a ten year warranty. The Evr-Green as it is named supports both Level 1 and Level 2 chargings. And it is set up to work with Coloumb's charge point network as well. I would have to say if I were to get an EV car today, I would have to go with Leviton because their quality has always been excellent plus it comes with the ten year warranty. Be sure to join this site to keep up on things green and especially information on electric vehicles as it becomes available.
